The Huawei Mate 20 Pro has a score of 82.9, which is just a bit better than Huawei P40 Lite's 79.5 overall score. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro body has the same thickness than Huawei P40 Lite, but it is a little bit heavier. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro has a little sharper display than Huawei P40 Lite, and although they both have a display with the same size, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro also has a better resolution of 1440 x 3120 and a greater pixel number per screen inch.
The Huawei Mate 20 Pro has a bit more powerful processing unit than Huawei P40 Lite. Both of them have 8 cpu cores and the same RAM amount. Huawei P40 Lite counts with as much memory to store more apps and games as the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, they have the same 128 GB internal storage. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro takes a little bit better photographs and videos than Huawei P40 Lite, because although it has a less MP back facing camera, and they both have the same camera aperture, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro also counts with a bigger back-facing camera sensor taking better quality videos and photos and a way higher 3840x2160 (4K) video definition.
Huawei P40 Lite counts with a battery life that's very similar to the Huawei Mate 20 Pro one.
Although Huawei Mate 20 Pro is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Huawei P40 Lite, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Huawei P40 Lite. So if you want that extra features, you can buy the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, but if you don't you can save some money and buy the Huawei P40 Lite, resigning some specifications.
