Huawei Mate 20 Pro has a general score of 82.9, which is a little bit better than the Galaxy S8 Active's 81.9 general score. Huawei Mate 20 Pro is a newer device, and it's also somewhat thinner and a little bit lighter than Galaxy S8 Active. Galaxy S8 Active features just a bit better screen than Huawei Mate 20 Pro, because although it has a little worse 1440 x 2960 resolution and a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a little bit better quantity of pixels in each screen inch.
Huawei Mate 20 Pro has just a little better performance than Galaxy S8 Active, and although they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro also has 2 GB more RAM. Huawei Mate 20 Pro features a superior camera than Galaxy S8 Active, because although it has a tinier aperture which is not nice for taking images and videos in low light environments, and they both have the same video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 video resolution, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro also counts with a much better resolution camera and a much bigger back camera sensor which gives a much better image and video quality.
Galaxy S8 Active has a bit more memory capacity to install applications and games than Huawei Mate 20 Pro, because although it has less internal storage, it also counts with a SD card slot that holds up to 256 GB. Huawei Mate 20 Pro counts with a little better battery duration than Galaxy S8 Active, because it has 4200mAh of battery capacity instead of 4000mAh.
Although Huawei Mate 20 Pro is a better device, it is way more expensive than Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy Huawei Mate 20 Pro, otherwise you can save some money and buy the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, letting go a couple features and specifications.
