The Huawei Mate X has a global score of 89.4, which is better than the Huawei Mate 20's 79.5 general score. The Huawei Mate X is a newer cellphone than the Huawei Mate 20, but it is extremely thicker and extremely heavier. Both of these phones have the same Android 9.0 Pie OS, so both should count with all the same OS features.
The Huawei Mate X counts with a bit better performance than Huawei Mate 20, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Huawei Mate X also has a larger amount of RAM. Huawei Mate 20 features a little more vivid screen than Huawei Mate X, although it has a little smaller display, a little bit worse quantity of pixels per inch in the screen and a lot lower resolution of 1080 x 2244px.
The Huawei Mate X features much more memory for games and applications than Huawei Mate 20, because it has more internal memory. Huawei Mate X has just a little better battery life than Huawei Mate 20, because it has a 4500mAh battery capacity. Huawei Mate 20 shoots much better photographs and videos than Huawei Mate X, although it has a way tinier camera sensor which gives a way lower image and video quality and a camera with a much lower 12 mega-pixels resolution, they both have a F1.8 aperture.
Although Huawei Mate X is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Huawei Mate 20, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Huawei Mate 20. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy Huawei Mate X, else you can save some dollars and get the Huawei Mate 20, giving up a couple specifications.
