Huawei Mate 20 has a global score of 79.5, which is just a bit better than Moto Z2 Play's score of 77.4. Huawei Mate 20 is a newer device than Moto Z2 Play, but it is extremely thicker and incredibly heavier. Huawei Mate 20 features a bit better looking display than Moto Z2 Play, because although it has a little bit worse pixel density, it also counts with a quite better resolution of 1080 x 2244 pixels and a bigger screen.
Motorola Moto Z2 Play has a superior storage for apps and games than Huawei Mate 20, because although it has less internal memory, it also counts with an external memory card slot that holds up to 1,95 TB. Huawei Mate 20 has a bit faster CPU than Moto Z2 Play. Both have the same RAM memory amount and 8 cores.
Huawei Mate 20 has just a bit better camera than Moto Z2 Play, although it has a tinier camera aperture which is not favorable for low light photos, they both have the same 3840x2160 video definition, the same 30 frames per second video frame rates and the same resolution back facing camera. The Huawei Mate 20 has superior battery performance than Moto Z2 Play, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity against 3000mAh.
Although Huawei Mate 20 is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Motorola Moto Z2 Play, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Motorola Moto Z2 Play. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy Huawei Mate 20, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and get the Motorola Moto Z2 Play, resigning some features and specs.
