Comparison review
The Xperia 5 III has a score of 90.5, which is better than Huawei Mate 20's 79.5 score. Both devices in this review have Android OS (Operating System), but the Xperia 5 III has older 11 version and Huawei Mate 20 has Android 9.0 Pie. The Xperia 5 III construction is extremely newer, just a little thinner and lighter than Huawei Mate 20.
Sony Xperia 5 III counts with just a bit better hardware performance than Huawei Mate 20, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Sony Xperia 5 III also has a larger amount of RAM memory. The Huawei Mate 20 has a bit sharper screen than Sony Xperia 5 III, because although it has a bit worse resolution of 1080 x 2244px and a little lower screen pixel density, it also counts with a little bit larger display.
The Sony Xperia 5 III counts with much more storage for games and applications than Huawei Mate 20, because it has an external memory slot that allows up to 1 TB and 256 GB internal memory. The Xperia 5 III takes slightly better pictures and videos than Huawei Mate 20, and although they both have the same video definition and the same resolution back camera, the Xperia 5 III also has a larger aperture to take better low light captures and videos, a way bigger back-facing camera sensor providing a much higher image quality and higher 120 frames per second video frame rate.
