The Huawei Mate 30 5G has a global score of 87.4, which is a bit better than the Huawei P40's 86.4 global score. The Huawei Mate 30 5G construction has the same thickness than Huawei P40, but it is somewhat heavier. Both phones in this review work with the same Android 10 OS (Operating System), so they should give you all the same OS features.
Huawei P40's processor is very similar to the processing unit in Huawei Mate 30 5G, and although the Huawei P40 has a lower amount of RAM, they both have the same number of cores. Huawei P40 features just a bit better screen than Huawei Mate 30 5G, because although it has a little smaller screen, and they both have exactly the same resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, the Huawei P40 also counts with a bit better pixel amount in each display inch.
The Huawei P40's storage capacity for applications and games is very similar to the Huawei Mate 30 5G one, both of them have the same 128 GB internal storage. The Huawei Mate 30 5G features a little longer battery performance than Huawei P40, because it has 4200mAh of battery capacity. The Huawei P40 shoots just a bit better pictures and videos than Huawei Mate 30 5G, because although it has a tinier aperture which is not good for capturing photos and/or video in poorly lited environments, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution and the same video frame rate, the Huawei P40 also counts with a larger back camera sensor which gives a better image and video quality and a better resolution back-facing camera.
