Comparison review
Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G is a little bit better than Huawei P40, having a general score of 90.5 against 86.4. Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G's construction is somewhat heavier and a little bit thicker than Huawei P40. Both phones in this comparison review use the same Android 10 OS (operating system), so you shouldn't see any difference regarding OS features.
Huawei P40 features a little bit better looking display than Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G, because although it has a quite lower resolution of 1080 x 2340px and a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a little bit higher screen density. The Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G has a much bigger storage capacity for games and applications than Huawei P40, because it has 128 GB more internal memory.
The Huawei P40 and Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G count with very similar processing units, and although the Huawei P40 has less RAM memory, they both have the same number of cores. Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G features just a bit longer battery life than Huawei P40, because it has 4500mAh of battery capacity instead of 3800mAh.
The Huawei P40 takes clearer videos and photos than Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G, because although it has a smaller camera aperture, and they both have the same 60 frames per second video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 video resolution, the Huawei P40 also counts with a higher resolution back facing camera and a lot bigger sensor capturing lot better quality videos and pictures.
