Comparison review
The Huawei Mate 40 Pro is just a bit better than the Motorola edge, with a general score of 90.9 against 89.6. Both of these phones work with the same Android 10 OS, so they should provide very similar operating system features. Although Huawei Mate 40 Pro and Motorola edge were released only a couple of months apart, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro body is just a little thinner but heavier.
Huawei Mate 40 Pro has a slightly better display than Motorola edge, because it has a just a bit higher amount of pixels per inch in the display, a little bigger screen and a higher resolution of 1334 x 2772px. Huawei Mate 40 Pro has a little faster processing unit than Motorola edge, and although they both have a Octa-Core CPU, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro also has a higher amount of RAM.
Huawei Mate 40 Pro takes a little bit better videos and photos than Motorola edge, because although it has a back-facing camera with a lot lower 50 megapixels resolution, a tinier diafragm aperture which is not favorable for shooting pictures and videos in poorly lited situations and a lower video quality, it also counts with a way larger back camera sensor taking more light and vivid colors.
The Motorola edge counts with a way bigger storage capacity for games and applications than Huawei Mate 40 Pro, and although they both have exactly the same internal storage, the Motorola edge also has a slot for an external memory card that admits a maximum of 1000 GB. The Motorola edge features just a little bit longer battery lifetime than Huawei Mate 40 Pro, because it has a 4500mAh battery capacity against 4400mAh.
