Comparison review
The Huawei Mate 40 Pro is a bit better than Xiaomi Black Shark 3 Pro, with a 90.9 score against 90.1. Although the Huawei Mate 40 Pro and Xiaomi Black Shark 3 Pro were released with only a couple months difference, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro is somewhat thinner and just a bit lighter. These devices work with the same Android 10 OS, so you shouldn't notice any difference in that aspect.
Xiaomi Black Shark 3 Pro counts with a bit more vivid screen than Huawei Mate 40 Pro, because it has a little bigger screen, a quite better 1440 x 3120px resolution and a just a little greater pixels number per inch in the screen. The Huawei Mate 40 Pro features a little better hardware performance than Xiaomi Black Shark 3 Pro. Both of them have a 8 GB RAM and a Octa-Core processor.
Xiaomi Black Shark 3 Pro features a camera that's very similar to the Huawei Mate 40 Pro one, because although the Xiaomi Black Shark 3 Pro has a way smaller back-facing camera sensor taking lot worse quality videos and photographs, and they both have the same video frame rates and the same (4K) video quality, it also counts with a bigger camera aperture for better photography in low light situations and a much more megapixels back facing camera.
The Xiaomi Black Shark 3 Pro's memory capacity for applications and games is very similar to Huawei Mate 40 Pro's one, both of them have exactly the same internal storage capacity. Xiaomi Black Shark 3 Pro features a little better battery duration than Huawei Mate 40 Pro, because it has a 14% larger battery capacity.
