Huawei Mate 40 Pro has a global score of 90.9, which is much better than the Xiaomi Mi 9T's 82.2 score. Both of these devices use the same Android 10 OS (operating system), so you shouldn't notice any difference in that aspect. Although Huawei Mate 40 Pro is newer than the Xiaomi Mi 9T, it is just a bit heavier and a little thicker.
The Huawei Mate 40 Pro counts with a little more vivid display than Xiaomi Mi 9T, because it has a bit larger display, a higher resolution of 1334 x 2772 and a little greater pixel number per display inch.
