Comparison review
The Xperia 1 III is much better than the Huawei Mate 8, having a global score of 93.3 against 77.4. Xperia 1 III's body is much newer than Huawei Mate 8's, but it is just a little bit heavier and a little thicker. The Sony Xperia 1 III counts with a bit more powerful processor than Huawei Mate 8, and although they both have a Octa-Core CPU, the Sony Xperia 1 III also has a higher amount of RAM.
Sony Xperia 1 III has a sharper screen than Huawei Mate 8, because it has a way greater count of pixels per display inch, a little larger screen and a much higher resolution of 1644 x 3840px. The Xperia 1 III captures better photographs and videos than Huawei Mate 8, because although it has a camera in the back with lot less megapixels resolution, it also counts with a much higher (4K) video quality and a larger aperture for better images and video in poorly lited environments.
The Sony Xperia 1 III features much more memory capacity for applications and games than Huawei Mate 8, because it has 256 GB internal memory capacity and a slot for SD memory cards that allows a maximum of 1 TB. Xperia 1 III has just a little better battery life than Huawei Mate 8, because it has a 13 percent larger battery capacity.
The Sony Xperia 1 III costs a lot more than Huawei Mate 8, but you can get a much better phone for that few more dollars.
