Huawei Mate 8 has a global score of 77.4, which is a little bit better than Sony Xperia Z3's global score of 77.3. The Huawei Mate 8 is a newer and somewhat thinner phone than the Sony Xperia Z3, but it is just a bit heavier. The Xperia Z3 has an incredibly better display than Huawei Mate 8, because although it has a bit smaller display, and they both have exactly the same 1920 x 1080px resolution, the Xperia Z3 also counts with a bit greater screen density.
Huawei Mate 8 features a way bigger memory capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Xperia Z3, and although they both have a SD extension slot that supports up to 128 GB, the Huawei Mate 8 also has 128 GB internal storage. The Xperia Z3 has a little bit better hardware performance than Huawei Mate 8, because although it has 4 less CPU cores and 1 GB lesser RAM, it also counts with a GPU.
Sony Xperia Z3 features a better camera than Huawei Mate 8, and although they both have a same size camera aperture, the Sony Xperia Z3 also has a much higher 20.7 megapixels resolution back-facing camera and a way higher 3840x2160 (4K) video definition. Huawei Mate 8 counts with better battery performance than Xperia Z3, because it has a 4000mAh battery size instead of 3200mAh.
Although Huawei Mate 8 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Xperia Z3, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Xperia Z3. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy Huawei Mate 8, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and buy the Xperia Z3, giving up some features and specifications.
