The Huawei P40 has a general score of 86.4, which is a little bit better than Huawei Mate 9 Pro's score of 78.7. The Huawei P40 design is much newer, but a little bit thicker and a little bit heavier than the Huawei Mate 9 Pro. Both phones in our current comparison work with Android OS (operating system), but the Huawei P40 has older 10 version and Huawei Mate 9 Pro has Android 8.0 Oreo version.

The Huawei Mate 9 Pro and the Huawei P40 have quite similar memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos, they have equal internal memory. The Huawei P40 has a very superior camera than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and although they both have the same video quality, the Huawei P40 also has a larger aperture, higher video frame rates, a much larger back-facing camera sensor capturing more light and vivid colors and a way more mega-pixels camera in the back.
