Comparison review
Huawei Mate 9 Pro has an overall score of 78.7, which is a little bit better than the LG G5's 76.1 overall score. Huawei Mate 9 Pro's construction is newer than LG G5's, but it's just a bit heavier and a little thicker. These phones come with the same Android 8.0 Oreo operating system, so you shouldn't see any difference regarding operating system features.
LG G5 features a screen that is very similar to Huawei Mate 9 Pro's display, because although the LG G5 has a quite smaller screen, and they both have the same resolution of 1440 x 2560, it also counts with a little bit higher pixels density. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro counts with a little faster processing unit than LG G5, because it has more RAM memory and more CPU cores.
LG G5 has a very superior storage for applications and games than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, because although it has just 32 GB internal storage, it also counts with a SD memory slot that holds up to 1,95 TB. LG G5 has a slightly better camera than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and although they both have the same (4K) video quality and the same 30 frames per second video frame rate, the LG G5 also has a lot higher resolution back facing camera, a bigger aperture for better captures in poorly lited environments and a bigger back-facing camera sensor providing a better image quality.

Although Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a better device, it is way more expensive than LG G5, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the LG G5. If you prefer to save some money, you can get LG G5, letting go a couple features, but you'll get the most out of your savings.
