Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a little bit better than the Galaxy S5 Plus, getting a 78.7 score against 78.1. Huawei Mate 9 Pro's body is newer and a bit thinner, but also heavier than the Galaxy S5 Plus. Both phones in this comparison review work with Android OS (operating system), but Huawei Mate 9 Pro has 8.0 Oreo version while Galaxy S5 Plus has Android 4.4.2, so it provides you lots of additional features.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro and Galaxy S5 Plus count with similar CPUs, because although the Galaxy S5 Plus has 4 GB lesser RAM memory and a lower number of cores , it also counts with an additional GPU. Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus counts with just a bit better display than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, although it has a little bit less pixels per screen inch, a little smaller display and a much lower 1920 x 1080 resolution.
Galaxy S5 Plus takes clearer photos and videos than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and although they both have the same video quality, a F2.2 aperture and the same 30 frames per second video frame rate, the Galaxy S5 Plus also has a larger back-facing camera sensor capturing better quality photographs and videos and a way better 16 megapixels resolution back camera.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro counts with a way bigger memory for apps and games than Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus, because although it has no slot for SD memory cards, it also counts with 128 GB internal storage capacity. Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a much better battery duration than Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity.
Although Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a better device, it is way more expensive than Galaxy S5 Plus, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Galaxy S5 Plus. If you want to save some money, you can get Galaxy S5 Plus, giving up a few specs and features, but you will get the most with your money.
