Comparison review
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro is slightly better than Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport, with a 78.7 score against 77.8. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro construction is extremely newer and thinner than Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport's, although it is just a little heavier. Both devices in this comparison come with Android OS (operating system), but Huawei Mate 9 Pro has 8.0 Oreo version and Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport has Android 4.4.2 version.
Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport features a bit sharper screen than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, although it has a much lower resolution of 1920 x 1080px, a little bit smaller display and a little bit worse pixels count per inch in the screen. Huawei Mate 9 Pro counts with much more storage for applications and games than Galaxy S5 Sport, because although it has no slot for external memory cards, it also counts with 112 GB more internal storage.
Galaxy S5 Sport's processing unit is very similar to the processor in Huawei Mate 9 Pro, because although the Galaxy S5 Sport has less RAM and 4 less CPU cores , it also counts with a graphics co-processor. The Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport captures a bit better videos and photos than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and although they both have the same (4K) video definition, a same size aperture and the same 30 fps video frame rate, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport also has a larger sensor capturing higher quality videos and photos and a back camera with lot more mega pixels.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro features a really longer battery lifetime than Galaxy S5 Sport, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity instead of 2800mAh.
Although Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Galaxy S5 Sport, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Galaxy S5 Sport. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy the Huawei Mate 9 Pro, otherwise you can save some dollars and buy the Galaxy S5 Sport, letting go a couple features and specs.
