The Samsung Galaxy S8 is just a bit better than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, with a overall score of 81.7 against 78.7. Samsung Galaxy S8's design is a little bit thicker but just a little lighter than the Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and both of them were only released 3 months apart. Samsung Galaxy S8 features a bit more vivid screen than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, because it has a little better display pixel density, a little higher 1440 x 2960px resolution and a little bit bigger display.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro features a little faster processor than Galaxy S8, and although they both have 8 cpu cores, the Huawei Mate 9 Pro also has a larger amount of RAM memory. Galaxy S8 shoots a little bit better pictures and videos than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and although they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rates, the same (4K) video definition and a camera with a 12 megapixels, the Galaxy S8 also has a bigger back-facing camera sensor shooting better quality photographs and videos and a way bigger camera aperture for better low-light captures.

The Huawei Mate 9 Pro counts with better battery lifetime than Galaxy S8, because it has a 33% more battery capacity.
