Comparison review
Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a global score of 78.7, which is just a bit better than Sony Xperia Z5's overall score of 77.6. These phones use Android operating system, but Huawei Mate 9 Pro has newer 8.0 Oreo version while Sony Xperia Z5 has Android 5.1. Although Huawei Mate 9 Pro is newer than Sony Xperia Z5, it is a little thicker and a little bit heavier.
The Sony Xperia Z5 features a little bit better looking display than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, although it has a lot lower 1920 x 1080 resolution, a bit smaller screen and a little bit inferior amount of pixels per inch in the screen. Huawei Mate 9 Pro counts with a quite bigger memory for applications and games than Xperia Z5, because although it has no external memory card slot, it also counts with 128 GB internal storage.
The Xperia Z5 has a CPU that's very similar to Huawei Mate 9 Pro's processing unit, because although the Xperia Z5 has a smaller amount of RAM memory, and they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, it also counts with a graphics co-processor. Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a much better battery duration than Sony Xperia Z5, because it has a 38 percent greater battery size.
Xperia Z5 takes better pictures and videos than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 video definition and the same 30 frames per second video frame rate, the Xperia Z5 also has a way higher resolution back camera, a bigger aperture and a much bigger sensor which gives a way higher image and video quality.
Although Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Xperia Z5, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Xperia Z5. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can buy Xperia Z5, giving up a few features and specs, but you'll get the most with your savings.
