The Huawei Mate 9 Pro has an overall score of 78.7, which is slightly better than Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus's global score of 78.1. Huawei Mate 9 Pro's body is a little bit thinner but a bit heavier than Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus, and both of them were only released with a couple months difference. Both of these phones work with Android operating system, but the Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a newer 8.0 Oreo version and Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus has Android 6.0 Marshmallow version, giving a couple nice extra features.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro features a slightly better looking screen than Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, it also counts with a better resolution of 1440 x 2560px and a better pixel density. The Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus's storage for apps and games is very similar to Huawei Mate 9 Pro's one, both have the same internal storage.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro has just a little better hardware performance than Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus, and although they both have 6 GB of RAM, the Huawei Mate 9 Pro also has a greater number of cores (and faster). Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus and Huawei Mate 9 Pro both feature incredibly similar cameras, because although the Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus has a tinier sensor capturing less light and dull colors, and they both have the same video frame rate and the same (4K) video definition, it also counts with a larger aperture to capture better low light photos and video and a more mega-pixels camera in the back.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a bit better battery lifetime than Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus, because it has a 4000mAh battery capacity instead of 3800mAh.
