Comparison review
Google Pixel 2 XL has a score of 82.5, which is much better than Huawei Mate 9's 73.4 global score. Google Pixel 2 XL's body has the same thickness than the Huawei Mate 9, but it is just a bit lighter. Google Pixel 2 XL has a much better display than Huawei Mate 9, because it has a greater pixels count in each display inch, a quite larger display and a lot better resolution of 1440 x 2880 pixels.
The Huawei Mate 9 has just a bit bigger storage to install games and applications than Google Pixel 2 XL, because although it has only 64 GB internal memory capacity, it also counts with a SD extension slot that admits up to 256 GB. Huawei Mate 9 has a bit more powerful CPU than Google Pixel 2 XL. They have 4 GB of RAM memory and a Octa-Core processor.
The Huawei Mate 9 counts with just a little bit longer battery life than Google Pixel 2 XL, because it has a 14% bigger battery capacity. Google Pixel 2 XL shoots way better videos and photos than Huawei Mate 9, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution and the same video frame rate, the Google Pixel 2 XL also has a camera with more megapixels, a larger diafragm aperture to capture better low light images and video and a larger sensor.
