Comparison review
The Huawei Mate X has an overall score of 89.4, which is much better than the Huawei Mate 9 Pro's global score of 78.7. Both phones in this review come with Android OS (Operating System), but the Huawei Mate X has a more recent 9.0 Pie version while Huawei Mate 9 Pro has Android 8.0 Oreo, so it gives some nice extra features and enhanced performance. The Huawei Mate X body is noticeably newer than the Huawei Mate 9 Pro's, but it's way thicker and heavier.
Huawei Mate X counts with a bit faster processor than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and although they both have 8 CPU cores, the Huawei Mate X also has a higher amount of RAM. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a bit more vivid screen than Huawei Mate X, because although it has a bit lower resolution of 1440 x 2560px and a really smaller display, it also counts with a greater pixel density.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro shoots just a bit better photographs and videos than Huawei Mate X, although it has a way lower 12 mega-pixels resolution camera in the back, a much tinier sensor which gives a lot lower image and video quality and a smaller aperture which is not recommended for low-light photography and video.
The Huawei Mate X features a superior storage capacity for games and applications than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, because it has 384 GB more internal storage capacity. The Huawei Mate X counts with just a bit better battery lifetime than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, because it has a 4500mAh battery size instead of 4000mAh.
Although Huawei Mate X is a better device, it is way more expensive than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Huawei Mate 9 Pro. So if you want that extra features, you can buy the Huawei Mate X, but if you don't you can save some dollars and get the Huawei Mate 9 Pro, resigning some specifications.
