Huawei Mate X is much better than Xperia XZ2 Compact, with an 89.4 score against 79. The Huawei Mate X construction is newer and somewhat thinner, but much heavier than Xperia XZ2 Compact. These devices have Android operating system, but the Huawei Mate X has a newer 9.0 Pie version while Xperia XZ2 Compact has Android 8.0 Oreo, so it gives some nice extra features.
Xperia XZ2 Compact has a slightly better looking screen than Huawei Mate X, because although it has a lot smaller display and a way worse resolution of 1080 x 2160px, it also counts with a just a little better pixels count per inch in the display. The Huawei Mate X features a much greater memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact, because although it has no SD card slot, it also counts with 512 GB internal storage capacity.
Xperia XZ2 Compact's CPU is very similar to Huawei Mate X's processor, and although the Xperia XZ2 Compact has a lower amount of RAM, they both have a Octa-Core processor. Huawei Mate X has a much better battery duration than Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact, because it has 4500mAh of battery capacity against 2870mAh.
The Xperia XZ2 Compact captures much better pictures and videos than Huawei Mate X, although it has a camera with a much lower resolution, a tinier aperture which is worse for taking images in low-light environments and a much smaller back camera sensor shooting lot worse quality videos and pictures.
