Huawei Mate X is better than the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, having a score of 89.4 against 77.5. Even though the Huawei Mate X is way newer than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, it's extremely heavier and way thicker. Huawei Mate X features just a bit better hardware performance than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and although they both have a Octa-Core processor, the Huawei Mate X also has 4 GB more RAM.
Huawei Mate X has a bit better display than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, because it has a lot better 2200 x 2480 pixels resolution, a larger screen and a little bit better screen density. Xiaomi Mi Max 2 features a slightly better camera than Huawei Mate X, although it has a tinier camera aperture which is not favorable for taking pictures and/or video in low light situations, a much lower resolution back camera and a way tinier back-facing camera sensor shooting much worse quality images and videos.
Huawei Mate X has a much bigger storage to store more games and applications than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, because although it has no slot for SD memory cards, it also counts with 512 GB internal storage. The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 features longer battery performance than Huawei Mate X, because it has an 18% more battery size.
Although Huawei Mate X is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Xiaomi Mi Max 2. So if you need that extra features, you can buy the Huawei Mate X, otherwise you can save some money and get the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, letting go a couple features and specs.
