Comparison review
The Huawei Mate X2 is better than the Huawei Mate 20, with an 89.1 score against 79.5. Huawei Mate X2's construction is notably newer and just a bit thinner than Huawei Mate 20's, but it is heavier. These phones include Android OS (operating system), but Huawei Mate X2 has an older 10 version and Huawei Mate 20 has Android 9.0 Pie version.
The Huawei Mate 20 has a bit more vivid screen than Huawei Mate X2, although it has a lot worse 1080 x 2244 resolution, a little bit less pixels per inch in the screen and a little smaller screen. Huawei Mate X2 has a bit better hardware performance than Huawei Mate 20, and although they both have 8 cpu cores, the Huawei Mate X2 also has 4 GB more RAM.
The Huawei Mate X2 counts with a very superior storage to install games and applications than Huawei Mate 20, because it has more internal memory. Huawei Mate X2 captures much clearer photographs and videos than Huawei Mate 20, because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture which is not favorable for capturing photographs in poorly lited environments, and they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rates and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video definition, the Huawei Mate X2 also counts with a camera in the back with much more megapixels.
The Huawei Mate X2 features a bit longer battery lifetime than Huawei Mate 20, because it has a 4500mAh battery capacity instead of 4000mAh.
Although Huawei Mate X2 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Huawei Mate 20, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Huawei Mate 20. If you prefer to save some money, you can buy the Huawei Mate 20, giving up a few features and specs, but you will get the most with your budget.
