Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a bit better than Huawei P20 Lite (2019), having a global score of 78.7 against 76.5. Both phones we compare here work with Android OS (operating system), but Huawei Mate 9 Pro has the older 8.0 Oreo version and Huawei P20 Lite (2019) has Android 9.0 Pie version. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro body is just a little lighter and just a bit thinner than the Huawei P20 Lite (2019), although it was released many years before.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a bit more powerful CPU than Huawei P20 Lite (2019), and although they both have a Octa-Core CPU, the Huawei Mate 9 Pro also has a higher amount of RAM memory. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro counts with a bit more vivid display than Huawei P20 Lite (2019), because although it has a little bit smaller screen, it also counts with a better resolution of 1440 x 2560px and a better screen density.
The Huawei P20 Lite (2019) features a lot bigger memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and although they both have equal internal storage capacity, the Huawei P20 Lite (2019) also has a slot for external memory cards that allows up to 256 GB. Huawei Mate 9 Pro features a slightly better camera than Huawei P20 Lite (2019), because although it has a way worse resolution camera in the back and a smaller diafragm aperture which is not favorable for low-light photography and video, it also counts with a way better (4K) video definition.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro counts with a battery performance that is just as good as Huawei P20 Lite (2019)'s battery lifetime.
