Huawei Mate 8 has a general score of 77.4, which is slightly better than Huawei P20 Lite's 75.4 score. Even being the best cellphone in this comparison review, the Huawei Mate 8 is a much older, a lot heavier and just a bit thicker cellphone than the Huawei P20 Lite. Huawei P20 Lite counts with just a bit better looking screen than Huawei Mate 8, because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a bit higher display density and a little bit higher resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels.
Huawei Mate 8 has a greater memory to store more games and applications than Huawei P20 Lite, because although it has an external memory slot that supports a maximum of 128 GB against 256 GB, it also counts with more internal storage capacity. Huawei P20 Lite and Huawei Mate 8 feature incredibly similar processors, both of them have the same RAM amount and a Octa-Core CPU.
The Huawei Mate 8 captures a little bit better pictures and videos than Huawei P20 Lite, and although they both have a camera with a 16 MP and the same (Full HD) video definition, the Huawei Mate 8 also has a larger aperture for better captures and video in low-light environments and faster 60 fps video frame rates.
Huawei Mate 8 features better battery duration than Huawei P20 Lite, because it has a 4000mAh battery capacity instead of 3000mAh.
Although Huawei Mate 8 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Huawei P20 Lite, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Huawei P20 Lite. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy Huawei Mate 8, otherwise you can save some money and get the Huawei P20 Lite, giving up some features and specs.
