Huawei P20 Pro is just a bit better than the Huawei P20 Lite, with an 81.4 score against 75.4. The Huawei P20 Pro body is heavier and just a bit thicker than the Huawei P20 Lite. These phones include Android OS (operating system), but Huawei P20 Pro has the previous 10 version and Huawei P20 Lite has Android 8.0 Oreo.
Huawei P20 Lite features a little sharper display than Huawei P20 Pro, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a quite better resolution of 1080 x 2280px and a little bit better pixels density. Huawei P20 Pro features a bit superior processor than Huawei P20 Lite, and although they both have 8 cpu cores, the Huawei P20 Pro also has 2 GB more RAM memory.
Huawei P20 Pro takes much better pictures and videos than Huawei P20 Lite, because it has a way higher resolution camera in the back, a larger diafragm aperture to take better low-light captures and videos and a way better 3840x2160 video definition. Huawei P20 Lite has a bit bigger storage capacity for games and applications than Huawei P20 Pro, because although it has less internal storage capacity, it also counts with a slot for external memory cards that supports a maximum of 256 GB.
The Huawei P20 Pro counts with improved battery lifetime than Huawei P20 Lite, because it has a 4000mAh battery size instead of 3000mAh.
Although Huawei P20 Pro is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Huawei P20 Lite, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Huawei P20 Lite. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can get Huawei P20 Lite, and give up a few specs and features, but you'll get the most with your savings.
