Xperia 1 III has a general score of 93.3, which is better than the Huawei P20 Pro's score of 81.4. Both phones we compare here have Android OS (operating system), but the Xperia 1 III has the newer 11 version and Huawei P20 Pro has Android 10, so it provides a couple nice extra features. The Xperia 1 III is a much newer cellphone than the Huawei P20 Pro, but it is a little heavier and just a little bit thicker.
Sony Xperia 1 III counts with a little bit better hardware performance than Huawei P20 Pro, and although they both have 8 cpu cores, the Sony Xperia 1 III also has more RAM. The Xperia 1 III counts with a brighter display than Huawei P20 Pro, because it has a much better resolution of 1644 x 3840, way more pixels per inch of display and a quite larger screen.
The Huawei P20 Pro captures slightly better photos and videos than Xperia 1 III, because although it has a smaller back-facing camera sensor capturing less light and washed colors, slower 30 frames per second video frame rates and a smaller diafragm aperture which is not good for low light images and video, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video definition, the Huawei P20 Pro also counts with a camera in the back with way more mega pixels.
Sony Xperia 1 III counts with a superior storage capacity to install games and applications than Huawei P20 Pro, because it has a SD card slot that allows a maximum of 1 TB and 256 GB internal storage. Sony Xperia 1 III features just a little better battery life than Huawei P20 Pro, because it has a 4500mAh battery capacity instead of 4000mAh.
Although Sony Xperia 1 III is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Huawei P20 Pro, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Huawei P20 Pro. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy Sony Xperia 1 III, but if you don't you can save some dollars and get the Huawei P20 Pro, letting go a couple specifications.
