IPhone 12 Pro Max is better than the Huawei P40 Lite, with a overall score of 93.2 against 79.5. Although the iPhone 12 Pro Max and the Huawei P40 Lite were only released 9 months apart, iPhone 12 Pro Max's construction is somewhat thinner but heavier. The iPhone 12 Pro Max counts with iOS 15.x operating system, while Huawei P40 Lite counts with Android 10 operating system.
The Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max counts with a faster CPU than Huawei P40 Lite, because although it has an inferior number of cores , and they both have 6 GB of RAM memory, the Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max also counts with a 64 bits processing unit. IPhone 12 Pro Max features a sharper screen than Huawei P40 Lite, because it has a little bigger screen, a better 1284 x 2778 resolution and a little greater screen density.
The Huawei P40 Lite shoots just a bit better pictures and videos than Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max, because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture and lower 30 frames per second video frame rate, and they both have the same 1920x1080 video quality, the Huawei P40 Lite also counts with a lot higher resolution back facing camera.

So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy the Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max, but if you don't you can save some money and get the Huawei P40 Lite, resigning a couple features and specifications.
