Huawei P40 Lite is a bit better than the Huawei Mate 10, with a overall score of 79.5 against 78.9. Even though the Huawei P40 Lite is a little thicker than Huawei Mate 10, it's just a little lighter and also noticeably newer. These devices work with the same Android 10 operating system, so you shouldn't notice any differences regarding OS features.
The Huawei Mate 10's processing unit is very similar to Huawei P40 Lite's processor, and although the Huawei Mate 10 has a lower amount of RAM, they both have the same number of cores. The Huawei Mate 10 features a sharper screen than Huawei P40 Lite, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, it also counts with a better display density and a better 1440 x 2560px resolution.
Huawei P40 Lite counts with a much better camera than Huawei Mate 10, because although it has a tinier aperture, and they both have the same video frame rates and the same (Full HD) video definition, the Huawei P40 Lite also counts with a much larger camera sensor taking much better quality videos and photos and a way more mega pixels back facing camera.
Huawei Mate 10 has a bit more memory to install games and applications than Huawei P40 Lite, because although it has just 64 GB internal storage capacity, it also counts with a SD memory slot that holds a maximum of 256 GB. The Huawei P40 Lite counts with just a bit better battery lifetime than Huawei Mate 10, because it has 4200mAh of battery capacity instead of 4000mAh.
The Huawei P40 Lite costs a little more than Huawei Mate 10, but you can get a better phone for that extra money.
