Comparison review
Google Pixel 5 has a global score of 89, which is a little bit better than Huawei P40's global score of 86.4. The Google Pixel 5 body is just a bit thinner and lighter than the Huawei P40, although both of them were only released 6 months apart. Huawei P40 counts with a little faster processor than Google Pixel 5, although it has less RAM, they both have a Octa-Core processing unit.
Huawei P40 has a slightly better display than Google Pixel 5, because although it has a bit less pixels per display inch, and they both have the same exact 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution, the Huawei P40 also counts with a little larger display. Huawei P40 and Google Pixel 5 feature extremely similar storage for applications, games, photos and videos, they have equal internal storage.
Huawei P40 captures much better videos and photos than Google Pixel 5, because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture which is not so good for low light images and videos, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video definition and the same 60 fps video frame rate, the Huawei P40 also counts with a camera with way more MP and a way bigger back camera sensor.
The Google Pixel 5 features just a bit longer battery life than Huawei P40, because it has 4080mAh of battery capacity instead of 3800mAh.
Although Google Pixel 5 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Huawei P40, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Huawei P40. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can buy Huawei P40, and give up some specs and features, but you'll get the most with your budget.
