Huawei Mate 8 is a bit better than Huawei P9 Plus, getting a 77.4 score against 75.5. The Huawei Mate 8 construction is heavier and somewhat thicker than the Huawei P9 Plus. The Huawei P9 Plus features a bit sharper display than Huawei Mate 8, because although it has a bit smaller screen, and they both have the same exact 1080 x 1920px resolution, the Huawei P9 Plus also counts with a just a little more pixels per display inch.
The Huawei Mate 8 counts with a bigger storage for applications and games than Huawei P9 Plus, because although it has an external memory slot that supports 128 GB smaller, it also counts with 128 GB internal storage. The Huawei P9 Plus features just a little better hardware performance than Huawei Mate 8. Both of them have 8 cores and a 4 GB RAM.
Huawei Mate 8 features longer battery lifetime than Huawei P9 Plus, because it has a 4000mAh battery size. The Huawei Mate 8 takes just a bit better videos and photos than Huawei P9 Plus, and although they both have the same video frame rate and the same (Full HD) video resolution, the Huawei Mate 8 also has a back-facing camera with lot more mega-pixels and a bigger diafragm aperture to capture better photography and videos in low-light situations.
