The Huawei Mate 9 Pro is just a bit better than Huawei P9 Plus, getting a global score of 78.7 against 75.5. Despite being the best we compare here, we must highlight that it's also a little bit heavier and just a little thicker. Both of these devices use Android OS (operating system), but the Huawei Mate 9 Pro has newer 8.0 Oreo version and Huawei P9 Plus has Android 7.0 Nougat, giving you a lot of extra features and performance optimizations.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro features just a bit better looking display than Huawei P9 Plus, and although they both have a display with the same size, the Huawei Mate 9 Pro also has a higher pixel count in each screen inch and a better resolution of 1440 x 2560. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro's processor is very similar to the processor in Huawei P9 Plus, and although the Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a larger amount of RAM, they both have a Octa-Core processor.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro captures clearer photographs and videos than Huawei P9 Plus, and although they both have a camera with a 12 MP, a same size back-facing camera sensor and a same size aperture, the Huawei Mate 9 Pro also has a much better 3840x2160 (4K) video definition. Huawei P9 Plus counts with a slightly better memory for applications and games than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, because although it has just 64 GB internal storage capacity, it also counts with an external SD slot that admits up to 256 GB.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro has better battery duration than Huawei P9 Plus, because it has an 18 percent bigger battery size.
