The Huawei Mate X is much better than the Huawei P9 Plus, getting a general score of 89.4 against 75.5. Both phones in this review come with Android OS (operating system), but the Huawei Mate X has a more recent 9.0 Pie version while Huawei P9 Plus has Android 7.0 Nougat, so it counts with a lot of extra features and performance enhancements. The Huawei Mate X design is newer than the Huawei P9 Plus's, but it's way thicker and notably heavier.
The Huawei Mate X counts with a little bit better display than Huawei P9 Plus, because it has a really larger screen, a way higher 2200 x 2480px resolution and a quite better amount of pixels per inch of screen. The Huawei Mate X features a very superior memory capacity to install games and applications than Huawei P9 Plus, because although it has no SD card slot, it also counts with 512 GB internal storage.
Huawei Mate X counts with a little bit better performance than Huawei P9 Plus, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Huawei Mate X also has a greater amount of RAM. Huawei P9 Plus has a slightly better camera than Huawei Mate X, although it has a much worse 12 MP resolution camera, a smaller aperture which is not favorable for low light captures and video and a way tinier sensor providing a lot worse image quality.
Huawei Mate X features longer battery duration than Huawei P9 Plus, because it has 4500mAh of battery capacity.
