The Huawei P40 has a global score of 86.4, which is much better than the Huawei P9's score of 72.9. Huawei P40's body is much newer than the Huawei P9's, although it's heavier and somewhat thicker. Huawei P40 features a bit better performance than Huawei P9, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Huawei P40 also has a greater amount of RAM.
Huawei P40 has just a bit better screen than Huawei P9, because although it has a little less pixels per display inch, it also counts with a bigger screen and a slightly better 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution. The Huawei P40 features a bigger storage for games and applications than Huawei P9, because although it has no SD memory slot, it also counts with 96 GB more internal memory.
The Huawei P40 has greater battery life than Huawei P9, because it has a 3800mAh battery capacity against 3000mAh. Huawei P40 has a very superior camera than Huawei P9, because it has a larger aperture for better photos and videos in low light environments, a way better 3840x2160 (4K) video definition, a back camera with a way higher resolution and a way larger back-facing camera sensor which provides a lot higher photo and video quality.
