Comparison review
The Xiaomi Mi 8 is much better than the Huawei P9, with an 83.3 score against 72.9. Although the Xiaomi Mi 8 is much newer than the Huawei P9, it's a little thicker and somewhat heavier. Xiaomi Mi 8 has a bit superior processor than Huawei P9, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Xiaomi Mi 8 also has more RAM memory.
Xiaomi Mi 8 has a bit better looking screen than Huawei P9, because although it has a little bit less pixels per display inch, it also counts with a little bit higher resolution of 1080 x 2248px and a larger screen. Xiaomi Mi 8 shoots slightly better pictures and videos than Huawei P9, and although they both have the same resolution back facing camera, the Xiaomi Mi 8 also has a bigger aperture to take better low-light images and video, a bigger sensor capturing more light and vivid colors and a lot better (4K) video definition.
Xiaomi Mi 8 has a much greater memory for apps and games than Huawei P9, because although it has no slot for SD memory cards, it also counts with 256 GB internal storage capacity. The Xiaomi Mi 8 has a bit better battery lifetime than Huawei P9, because it has a 13% more battery size.
