Comparison review

Kyocera Hydro Elite is just a bit better than Asus ZenFone 5, with a 59.6 score against 59.1. The Kyocera Hydro Elite design is somewhat lighter but just a little thicker than the Asus ZenFone 5, and both were only released 4 months apart. Both of these phones use Android operating system, but the Kyocera Hydro Elite has older 4.1 version while Asus ZenFone 5 has Android 4.4 version.

Kyocera Hydro Elite features a slightly better screen than Asus ZenFone 5, because although it has a little bit smaller display, and they both have the same 1280 x 720 pixels resolution, the Kyocera Hydro Elite also counts with a little higher screen density. Asus ZenFone 5 features a little bit better performance than Kyocera Hydro Elite, because although it has doesn't have a graphics processor, and they both have the same number of cores, the Asus ZenFone 5 also counts with 512 MB more RAM.

Kyocera Hydro Elite has a much better camera than Asus ZenFone 5, although it has a much smaller camera aperture which is worse for capturing photographs and video in low light environments, they both have the same video frame rates, the same 1920x1080 video resolution and a 8 mega-pixels camera in the back.

The Kyocera Hydro Elite counts with more storage for apps and games than Asus ZenFone 5, because although it has an external memory card slot that supports up to 32 GB against 64 GB, it also counts with 8 GB more internal storage capacity. The Kyocera Hydro Elite and the Asus ZenFone 5 have quite similar batteries performance, although the Asus ZenFone 5 also has a 0% larger battery size.

Although Kyocera Hydro Elite is a better device, it costs a bit more than Asus ZenFone 5, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Asus ZenFone 5. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy the Kyocera Hydro Elite, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and get the Asus ZenFone 5, giving up a couple features and specifications.
