LG G3 is a a lot newer cellphone than the Samsung Galaxy S III, although it is just a bit thicker and heavier. These devices work with Android operating system, but the LG G3 has 5.0 version and Samsung Galaxy S III has Android 4.3, so it gives you some additional features and improved performance.
