The LG G8 ThinQ is a little bit better than the Xperia XZ2 Compact, with an 84.3 score against 79. LG G8 ThinQ is a newer phone, and it's also noticeably thinner and a little bit lighter than the Xperia XZ2 Compact. Both devices in this review work with Android OS (Operating System), but the LG G8 ThinQ has 9.0 Pie version while Xperia XZ2 Compact has Android 8.0 Oreo version, giving lots of additional features.

The LG G8 ThinQ counts with a little sharper display than Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact, because although it has less brightness, it also counts with a better resolution of 1440 x 3120, a bit greater pixels quantity in each inch of display and a larger display. LG G8 ThinQ features a much better storage for games and applications than Xperia XZ2 Compact, because it has a slot for an external memory card that admits a maximum of 1,95 TB and 128 GB internal memory capacity.

The LG G8 ThinQ has a bit better processing power than Xperia XZ2 Compact, and although they both have 8 cpu cores, the LG G8 ThinQ also has more RAM. The LG G8 ThinQ counts with superior battery performance than Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact, because it has a 3500mAh battery size instead of 2870mAh. The Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact features just a bit better camera than LG G8 ThinQ, because although it has a way smaller diafragm aperture which is not nice for low light photography and video, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video quality and the same video frame rates, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact also counts with a larger sensor and a much higher 19 mega pixels resolution camera.
