The Sony Xperia 1 III has a general score of 93.3, which is better than LG G8X ThinQ's general score of 82.7. The Sony Xperia 1 III construction is newer, just a little bit lighter and just a little thinner than the LG G8X ThinQ. Both devices in this review come with Android OS (Operating System), but Sony Xperia 1 III has the newer 11 version while LG G8X ThinQ has Android 10.

The Sony Xperia 1 III has a much better looking display than LG G8X ThinQ, because it has a much better resolution of 1644 x 3840px, a lot more pixels per inch in the display and a little larger screen. The Xperia 1 III features a bit superior processing unit than LG G8X ThinQ, and although they both have a Octa-Core CPU, the Xperia 1 III also has 6 GB more RAM memory.

The Xperia 1 III counts with a bit more memory to install applications and games than LG G8X ThinQ, because although it has a slot for an external memory card that holds a maximum of 1 TB against 1,95 TB, it also counts with 128 GB more internal memory capacity. The Xperia 1 III features just a bit better camera than LG G8X ThinQ, and although they both have a same resolution back-facing camera and the same (4K) video definition, the Xperia 1 III also has a bigger diafragm aperture to take better images and video in low-light situations, a much larger back-facing camera sensor and better 120 fps video frame rate.

Xperia 1 III has a little better battery duration than LG G8X ThinQ, because it has a 4500mAh battery capacity instead of 4000mAh.

Although Sony Xperia 1 III is a better device, it costs a lot more money than LG G8X ThinQ, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the LG G8X ThinQ. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy Sony Xperia 1 III, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and buy the LG G8X ThinQ, resigning some features and specifications.
