Xperia 1 III is much better than LG V40 ThinQ, with a 93.3 score against 81.2. Both devices we are comparing here work with Android OS, but Xperia 1 III has newer 11 version while LG V40 ThinQ has Android 10 version, providing some nice extra features and performance optimizations. The Xperia 1 III is a way newer device than LG V40 ThinQ, but it's just a little bit thicker and just a little bit heavier.

Sony Xperia 1 III features a bit better hardware performance than LG V40 ThinQ, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Sony Xperia 1 III also has a larger amount of RAM memory. The Sony Xperia 1 III counts with a slightly better looking screen than LG V40 ThinQ, because it has a little bit larger display, a higher 1644 x 3840 pixels resolution and a just a bit better number of pixels in each inch of screen.

Xperia 1 III features a lot bigger memory capacity for games and applications than LG V40 ThinQ, because although it has a slot for an external memory card that admits 976 GB smaller, it also counts with 256 GB internal storage capacity. Sony Xperia 1 III features better battery duration than LG V40 ThinQ, because it has a 36% greater battery capacity.

Sony Xperia 1 III shoots a little bit better photos and videos than LG V40 ThinQ, because although it has a smaller camera aperture which is worse for low-light photography and videos, and they both have the same resolution back camera and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, the Sony Xperia 1 III also counts with a way bigger back-facing camera sensor taking more light and vivid colors and faster video frame rates.

Although Sony Xperia 1 III is a better device, it costs a lot more than LG V40 ThinQ, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the LG V40 ThinQ. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy the Sony Xperia 1 III, otherwise you can save some money and get the LG V40 ThinQ, resigning a couple features and specifications.
