Sony Xperia Z5 has a score of 77.6, which is just a bit better than Lumia 950 XL's overall score of 75. The Sony Xperia Z5 works with Android 5.1 OS, while Lumia 950 XL works with Windows 10 Mobile OS. Even though the Sony Xperia Z5 and the Lumia 950 XL were released only a few months apart, the Sony Xperia Z5 is a little thinner and a little bit lighter.
Microsoft Lumia 950 XL features a little bit better display than Xperia Z5, because it has a little bit larger display, a quite higher pixels quantity in each display inch and a better 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution. The Xperia Z5's memory capacity to install games and applications is very similar to the Lumia 950 XL one, both have equal internal storage capacity and an external memory slot that holds a maximum of 200 GB.
Sony Xperia Z5 has a quite better performance than Lumia 950 XL, and although they both have the same RAM memory amount, the Sony Xperia Z5 also has a greater number of cores and a graphics processing unit. Lumia 950 XL features a little better battery performance than Xperia Z5, because it has 3340mAh of battery capacity against 2900mAh.
Sony Xperia Z5 features just a bit better camera than Lumia 950 XL, and although they both have the same video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 video resolution, the Sony Xperia Z5 also has a bigger aperture to capture better low-light photos and video, a bigger back camera sensor which provides a better image and video quality and a better 23 mega-pixels resolution back-facing camera.
Although Sony Xperia Z5 is a better device, it is more expensive than Microsoft Lumia 950 XL, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Microsoft Lumia 950 XL. So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy Sony Xperia Z5, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL, resigning some specifications.
