Comparison review

The Microsoft Surface Duo 2 has an overall score of 85.3, which is slightly better than Samsung Galaxy Note8's 83 score. Both phones we compare here use Android OS (operating system), but the Microsoft Surface Duo 2 has an older 11 version and Samsung Galaxy Note8 has Android 9.0 Pie version. Microsoft Surface Duo 2 is a much newer and incredibly thinner device than the Samsung Galaxy Note8, but it's also heavier.

Microsoft Surface Duo 2 features a bit sharper display than Samsung Galaxy Note8, because although it has a little bit lower pixels number per inch in the screen, it also counts with a slightly better resolution of 1892 x 2688 pixels and a lot larger screen. The Samsung Galaxy Note8 counts with a slightly bigger storage capacity to install applications and games than Microsoft Surface Duo 2, because although it has less internal memory capacity, it also counts with a slot for external memory cards that supports up to 256 GB.

The Microsoft Surface Duo 2 has a bit faster processing unit than Samsung Galaxy Note8, and although they both have a Octa-Core CPU, the Microsoft Surface Duo 2 also has 2 GB more RAM memory. Microsoft Surface Duo 2 has improved battery life than Galaxy Note8, because it has 4449mAh of battery capacity instead of 3300mAh.

Microsoft Surface Duo 2 takes just a bit better pictures and videos than Samsung Galaxy Note8, and although they both have a F1.7 diafragm aperture, a camera with a 12 MP and the same (4K) video resolution, the Microsoft Surface Duo 2 also has faster video frame rates.

Although Microsoft Surface Duo 2 is a better device, it costs more money than the Galaxy Note8, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Galaxy Note8. If you want to save a few dollars, you can buy the Galaxy Note8, giving up a few features and specs, but you'll get the most with your budget.
