Microsoft Surface Duo 2 is a little bit better than the Xperia Z5 Premium, getting an 85.3 score against 79.8. The Microsoft Surface Duo 2 is a much newer and way thinner device than Xperia Z5 Premium, although it's a lot heavier. These phones use Android OS, but the Microsoft Surface Duo 2 has the newer 11 version while Xperia Z5 Premium has Android 5.1 version.

The Microsoft Surface Duo 2 has just a bit better hardware performance than Xperia Z5 Premium, because although it has doesn't have an extra graphics co-processor, and they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, the Microsoft Surface Duo 2 also counts with more RAM. The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium has a much better screen than Microsoft Surface Duo 2, because although it has a way smaller display, it also counts with a higher resolution of 3840 x 2160px and much more pixels per inch in the screen.

The Microsoft Surface Duo 2 has a greater storage capacity to install games and applications than Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, because although it has no external memory card slot, it also counts with more internal storage capacity. The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium takes a little bit better pictures and videos than Microsoft Surface Duo 2, because although it has lower video frame rate and a tinier aperture which is not recommended for low-light photos and videos, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium also counts with a much more mega-pixels back-facing camera.

The Microsoft Surface Duo 2 counts with improved battery duration than Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, because it has a 4449mAh battery size instead of 3430mAh.
