The Microsoft Surface Duo is just a bit better than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, having a general score of 78.8 against 76.3. Both of these phones use Android OS (operating system), but the Microsoft Surface Duo has older 10 version while Samsung Galaxy Alpha has Android 4.4.4. Microsoft Surface Duo is a noticeably thinner but incredibly heavier cellphone than the Samsung Galaxy Alpha.

The Microsoft Surface Duo features a little bit better processing power than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, because although it has doesn't have an extra graphics processing unit, it also counts with a larger number of faster cores and a larger amount of RAM memory. Samsung Galaxy Alpha counts with just a bit better looking display than Microsoft Surface Duo, although it has a bit worse screen density, a way smaller display and a lot worse 1280 x 720px resolution.

Microsoft Surface Duo counts with much more memory for apps and games than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, because it has 96 GB more internal storage capacity. Microsoft Surface Duo counts with a really longer battery life than Samsung Galaxy Alpha, because it has 3577mAh of battery capacity. The Galaxy Alpha takes a bit better pictures and videos than Microsoft Surface Duo, because although it has a smaller camera aperture and lower video frame rate, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video resolution, the Galaxy Alpha also counts with a more megapixels back camera.

Although Microsoft Surface Duo is a better device, it costs a lot more than Galaxy Alpha, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Galaxy Alpha. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy the Microsoft Surface Duo, but if you don't you can save some dollars and buy the Galaxy Alpha, letting go a couple features and specifications.
