The Sony Xperia 1 II has a global score of 91, which is much better than Microsoft Surface Duo's 78.8 overall score. Both phones in this review include Android operating system, but Sony Xperia 1 II has a newer 11 version and Microsoft Surface Duo has Android 10, providing the user a couple nice extra features. The Sony Xperia 1 II construction is a lot lighter but extremely thicker than the Microsoft Surface Duo, and they were only released with a couple of months difference.
The Xperia 1 II features a better screen than Microsoft Surface Duo, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, it also counts with a lot higher count of pixels per inch in the screen and a little bit higher resolution of 1644 x 3840 pixels. The Xperia 1 II features a much bigger storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Microsoft Surface Duo, because it has 128 GB more internal storage capacity and a slot for external memory cards that holds a maximum of 1000 GB.
Sony Xperia 1 II's processing unit is just as good as the processor in Microsoft Surface Duo, and although the Sony Xperia 1 II has 2 GB more RAM, they both have a Octa-Core processor. Xperia 1 II counts with a better camera than Microsoft Surface Duo, and although they both have the same (4K) video definition and the same video frame rate, the Xperia 1 II also has a back facing camera with a higher resolution and a bigger aperture.
The Xperia 1 II has a little better battery performance than Microsoft Surface Duo, because it has a 12% greater battery capacity.
