The Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a little bit better than the Motorola Edge 40 Neo, getting a general score of 78.7 against 77. Both phones in this review include Android operating system, but Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a more recent 8.0 Oreo version while Motorola Edge 40 Neo has Android 13 version, so it gives a couple nice extra features and some performance improvements. Huawei Mate 9 Pro is an notably older device than the Motorola Edge 40 Neo, but it is just a bit thinner and just a little lighter anyway.
The Motorola Edge 40 Neo counts with a little bit better looking screen than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, because although it has a quite lower resolution of 1080 x 2400px and a little bit worse screen pixel density, it also counts with a bigger screen. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro has as much memory for games and applications as Motorola Edge 40 Neo, they have exactly the same 128 GB internal memory.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro counts with a way better processing power than Motorola Edge 40 Neo, although it has less RAM, they both have 8 processing cores. The Motorola Edge 40 Neo takes much clearer pictures and videos than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and although they both have the same (4K) video resolution and the same 30 frames per second video frame rate, the Motorola Edge 40 Neo also has a larger diafragm aperture, a lot more megapixels back-facing camera and a much larger back-facing camera sensor capturing way higher quality videos and photos.
Motorola Edge 40 Neo has improved battery duration than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, because it has a 25% bigger battery size.
