The Sony Xperia 1 is a bit better than Motorola Edge 40 Neo, having an 82.6 score against 77. Although it's the best cellphone in this comparison review, Sony Xperia 1's body is much older, just a bit heavier and a bit thicker than the Motorola Edge 40 Neo. Xperia 1 counts with an extremely better processor than Motorola Edge 40 Neo, although it has 2 GB less RAM, they both have the same number of cores.
The Xperia 1 has a little sharper display than Motorola Edge 40 Neo, because although it has a lot more opaque display, and they both have a screen of the same size, the Xperia 1 also counts with a much higher resolution of 1644 x 3840 and a lot higher pixels count per inch in the display. Sony Xperia 1 features much more storage capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Motorola Edge 40 Neo, and although they both have equal internal memory, the Sony Xperia 1 also has a SD card slot that supports up to 512 GB.
Motorola Edge 40 Neo has a very superior battery lifetime than Xperia 1, because it has a 5000mAh battery size. The Motorola Edge 40 Neo features a greater camera than Sony Xperia 1, because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture which is not favorable for low-light images and videos, and they both have the same video quality, the Motorola Edge 40 Neo also counts with a back-facing camera with a way higher 50 mega-pixels resolution, a lot larger sensor which provides a lot higher image and video quality and higher video frame rate.
