The Galaxy S8 Active has a global score of 81.9, which is a bit better than the Motorola Edge 40's global score of 77.2. Even being the best phone in this review, we must note that it is also much older, extremely thicker and heavier. Samsung Galaxy S8 Active counts with a screen that's just as good as Motorola Edge 40's display, because although the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a higher number of pixels per display inch and a higher 1440 x 2960 resolution.
Samsung Galaxy S8 Active features a much faster processing unit than Motorola Edge 40, although it has a lower amount of RAM, they both have a Octa-Core CPU. Samsung Galaxy S8 Active counts with a bit more storage capacity for games and applications than Motorola Edge 40, because although it has just 64 GB internal storage, it also counts with a SD memory card expansion slot that holds up to 256 GB.
The Motorola Edge 40 counts with just a little bit longer battery lifetime than Galaxy S8 Active, because it has a 4400mAh battery size. Motorola Edge 40 features a lot better camera than Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, and although they both have the same 30 fps video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, the Motorola Edge 40 also has a back camera with a lot better 50 mega pixels resolution, a way larger back-facing camera sensor capturing more light and vivid colors and a bigger camera aperture for better images and videos in low light situations.
