Both phones in this comparison work with Android OS, but the Motorola edge has 10 version while LG G8 ThinQ has Android 9.0 Pie version. The Motorola edge is a newer cellphone than LG G8 ThinQ, but it's somewhat thicker and somewhat heavier.

The LG G8 ThinQ counts with a much better screen than Motorola edge, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, it also counts with a better resolution of 1440 x 3120 pixels and a greater pixel count per inch in the display. Motorola edge features just a bit more memory to install games and applications than LG G8 ThinQ, because although it has a slot for external memory cards that holds a maximum of 1000 GB against 1,95 TB, it also counts with 256 GB internal storage.

The LG G8 ThinQ counts with a little better performance than Motorola edge. Both of them have 8 processing cores and the same RAM memory amount. Motorola edge takes better photographs and videos than LG G8 ThinQ, because although it has slower video frame rates and a tinier camera aperture which is not nice for shooting photographs and/or video in poorly lited environments, and they both have the same (4K) video definition, the Motorola edge also counts with a back-facing camera with much more mega-pixels and a way bigger sensor capturing much better quality photos.

The Motorola edge counts with superior battery performance than LG G8 ThinQ, because it has 4500mAh of battery capacity.

Although Motorola edge is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the LG G8 ThinQ, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the LG G8 ThinQ. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy the Motorola edge, otherwise you can save some money and buy the LG G8 ThinQ, resigning some specifications.
